Anqing, also named “Yicheng”, is located in south Anhui Province and the northern bank at the lower reaches of Yangtze River. It crosses the river from Chizhou and Tongling to the east; borders upon Jiujiang of Jiangxi Province to the south, Huanggang of Hubei Province to the west and Liuan and Chaohu to the north; governs one city, seven counties and three districts. So, it is the important transportation hub of southwestern Anhui and east China with the reputation of “the throat of Yangtze River flowing thousands of miles and the first prefecture on the border shared by Wu and Chu empires”. The name of "Anqing" first comes from the “Anqing Army” quartered here during the Shaoxing years of the Southern Song Dynasty
